Goronyo Commends Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Infrastructure Drive at APC Sokoto East Senatorial Primary

The Honourable Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Esq., has praised the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for what he described as visionary leadership and unprecedented commitment to infrastructural transformation and national development across Nigeria.
A statement signed by Abdullahi Mohammed, SA Media to Honourable Minister of State for Works, noted that the Minister made the commendation today 18th May 2026, during the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Primary Election for Sokoto East Senatorial District held in Sokoto State, where Senator Umar Ajiya emerged as the party’s senatorial candidate.
Rt. Hon. Goronyo stated that the Tinubu administration has continued to demonstrate strong political will in executing strategic road and infrastructure projects designed to connect economic corridors, stimulate commerce, strengthen national integration, and improve the overall living standards of Nigerians.
He particularly highlighted the Federal Government’s four Legacy Road Projects, which collectively cut across the six geopolitical zones of the country and are aimed at boosting economic activities and enhancing regional connectivity.
According to the Minister, the projects include: The Lagos– Calabar Coastal Highway, traversing Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River States; The Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway, connecting Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, Oyo, and Badagry in Lagos State; The Calabar Ebonyi –Benue–Kogi–Nasarawa–Abuja Superhighway, linking Cross River, Ebonyi, Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory; The Akwanga–Jos Bauchi–Gombe–Biu–Maiduguri Road Corridor, covering Nasarawa, Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, and Borno States.
The Minister further noted that several other critical road projects are currently ongoing across various regions of the country under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In the South-East, he cited the reconstruction of the Enugu–Onitsha Expressway and the Enugu–Port Harcourt Road as major interventions aimed at improving transportation and economic activities within the region.
In the South-West, he referenced ongoing works on the Lagos–Badagry Expressway, which remains strategic to regional trade and mobility.
For the North-West and North-Central zones, the Minister highlighted projects such as the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Dual Carriageway, the Sokoto–Zamfara–Katsina–Kaduna Corridor, the Kano–Kwanar Hadejia Road, as well as the Zaria–Funtua–Gusau–Sokoto Road and Kano Bypass.
Speaking on projects in the North-East, Rt. Hon. Goronyo mentioned the Kano–Maiduguri Expressway, the Maiduguri–Monguno Road, and the Gamboru Bridge rehabilitation project in Borno State as a critical infrastructure aimed at improving security, trade, and regional integration.
He also highlighted ongoing interventions within the Federal Capital Territory, including the Abuja–Lokoja route and the Koton Karfe–Abaji Road project, which are expected to ease transportation challenges and improve connectivity between the FCT and other parts of the country.
Rt. Hon. Goronyo emphasised that beyond infrastructure, the Tinubu administration has continued to implement people-oriented policies and provide critical social amenities targeted at improving citizens’ welfare and accelerating socioeconomic development nationwide.
He stated that the achievements recorded within a relatively short period have further justified the confidence Nigerians placed in President Tinubu and stressed that the President deserves continued support to consolidate on the developmental strides already recorded under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Minister also commended the leadership of the APC for the peaceful, transparent, and successful conduct of the party’s primary elections across the country, describing the exercise as a reflection of internal democracy, political maturity, and party unity.
Goronyo congratulated Umar Ajiya on his emergence as the APC candidate for Sokoto East Senatorial District and expressed confidence in his ability to provide quality representation and advance the aspirations of the people.
He reaffirmed his loyalty and continued support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration, while expressing optimism that the policies and programmes of the Federal Government would continue to deliver meaningful and lasting benefits to Nigerians.
