TETFUND To Host 5-Day Research Fair, November 2024

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has concluded plans to host a five-day Research fair in November this year, to showcase the latest innovations and groundbreaking research, bridge the gap between researchers, inventors and willing sponsors.

The minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman who made the disclosure on Tuesday in Abuja, called on individuals and organisations to participate in the research fair, identify while consultations are ongoing with institutions and organizations that can partner with the Fund, as well as identify technologies with a view to establishing enterprises and enhancing the performance of existing businesses.

Mamman said that the research fair and exhibition would help in driving massive generation of jobs, creation of wealth, as it would gather and showcase many of the concluded practical research results and technologies which could be manufactured or are scalable.

The minister added that the research fair would also encourage Nigerians, particularly the youths, to step forward and use technologies in establishing viable enterprises for the provision of goods and services to the country, which would ultimately lead to creation of jobs, wealth and the broad improvement In the Nigerian economy.

Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arch. Sonny Echono, expressed his appreciation to the Minister for planning the fair.

Echono said: “We see the efforts harmonizing towards ensuring that we harness all the potential and all the achievements that have been recorded in the area of innovation and creativity. As the Minister said, it is open to all Nigerians.

“It is not limited to our beneficiary institutions. So, research institutes, private inventors, and digital creators, if you know you have done anything that will lead to the creation of jobs, the development of products and services, or the improvement of the lives of our people, come and showcase.”
