Expatriate Pilots’ Work Permit Renewal, Others Disrupts Air Peace Flights

• Apologises to customers over delays in scheduled flights

Leading Nigerian airline, Air Peace, has apologised to customers over delays in scheduled flights encountered in the past couple of days, assuring that normalcy will be restored today.

The airline in a statement released on Tuesday and sighted by Gentechnews, said disruption of flight schedules was largely due to delays in renewing work permit/visas for many of its expatriate Pilots and unscheduled aircraft maintenance.

It thanked the Nigerian Immigration Service for their prompt intervention which led to the visas being successfully granted.

The airline disclosed that the pilots have started returning from their countries and assured that normalcy would return within the next 72 hours.

The statement reads: “We apologise to our esteemed customers who have experienced delays in their well-planned flights these past couple of days.

“The disruption of these flights were as a result of unscheduled aircraft maintenance and largely by delays in renewing work permit/visas for many of our expatriate pilots which have led to a chain of delays and cancellations across our local flight operations.

“We thank the Nigerian Immigration Service for their swift intervention and cooperation as the visas have now been granted. The pilots have started returning from their countries from today.

“Normalcy is assured within the next 72 hours.

“While we regret the inconveniences caused, be assured that we are doing everything possible to minimise the effect of these disruptions.

“Air Peace is committed to safety and will never compromised established standards.”
