Parents of AAU Ekpoma Students urge Gov Obaseki to intervene for release of Medical Laboratory Science, other Results

Parents of students of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma (AAU) in Edo State are groaning as they narrate the terrible experiences their wards passed through in the institution while studying there as well as the fallout of same experience after graduating from the institution without getting their results after one or two years.

The parents who narrated their experiences to Gentechnews on condition of anonymity, narrated that they toiled to pay the exorbitant schools fees, levies, rented hostels outside the school due to paucity of school hostels, only for their wards to graduate since one or two years from Medical Laboratory Science Department and other departments of AAU Ekpoma, only to inform them that the school is yet to give them statement of result or any result at all.

They lamented that their wards, who are denied the release of their results without any reason are now roaming the streets as they cannot participate in the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC) scheme because they need their results as part of the requirement to do the same.

“We are appealing to Governor Godwin Obaseki to prevail on the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Asomwan Sunny Adagbonyin to release the Medical Laboratory Science of AAU Ekpoma and other results to enable them to proceed to the NYSC without any further delay.

“We are also calling on members of AAU Special Intervention Team (SIT) that recently brought sanity to the institution by sacking 13 AAU lecturers over alleged sexual harassment, fraud, others to rise to the occasion once again and facilitate the release the results of the already graduated students of Medical Laboratory Science Department of AAU Ekpoma and other departments facing similar challenges without delay,” they said.

Gentechnews, however, gathered that it has been a recurring decimal for the Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma (AAU) in Edo State authority not to release the graduating students result immediately after graduation.

Gentechnews believe that the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Asomwan Sunny Adagbonyin and members of AAU Special Intervention Team (SIT) will intervene and release the Medical Laboratory Science Department of AAU Ekpoma and other students who graduated in character and in learning their results and certificates to deter the name of this great institution initiated by Late Prof. Ambrose Alli being dragged in the mud.
