AAU Ekpoma, VC, Prof Adagbonyin urged to Overhaul ICT Department over negligence in Uploading students’ results

Following the hue and cry of Students still in academic sessions and graduating students about the abysmal performance of the Information Communications Technology (ICT) Department of the Ambrose Alli University, (AAU)Ekpoma, they have called on the Acting VC AAU, Prof Asomwan Sonnie Adagbonyin to as a matter of urgency overhaul the department, where all technological and computerized aspects of the school takes place because the students are passing through the heat of the crucible to get their results.

According to some of the students who spoke to Gentechnews on condition of anonymity, the ICT Department’s job is to resolve courses registration issues, upload results, upload exam questions and grades, solve any exam related issues and lastly upload each students’ result on kofa.

They lamented that the ICT Department has failed in their duty by the recent delays in uploading results, uploading of wrong results, amongst other issues.

A graduating student hinted that she was only waiting to collect her result only to discover lately that one of her results has been omitted at 400 level at the ICT Department and to  trace such result is a herculean task.

The Nursing Students Department are also groaning because they were asked to submit a copy of their missing results, which they did and up till now the results have not been uploaded by the ICT Department to their Kofa.

According to them, many of these students affected are in final year and if this issue is not rectified on time, it would delay the processing of their results.

“They’ve been uploading results for ages without any issues we  don’t know what has come over them to be misbehaving like this. The ICT department should be overhauled without delay for ultimate performance.

“Our acting VC is trying his best, but this ICT department is dragging the school backward,” they submitted.

Some parents, whose wards are facing these result challenges in AAU Ekpoma have vowed that no person known to them will ever study in this school where results have become ‘rocket science’ to get upon graduation.
