Guinness World Record: Nigerian lecturer, Nsikak Akpan sets new record in longest marathon lecture

Nsikak Akpan has broken the record for the longest marathon lecture delivered in the world.

Akpan began his attempt to break the Guinness World Record on Monday, September 23, 2024, covering a wide range of topics on ecology and environmental science.

Akpan, who is the Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Foreign Links Campus, Moro, Ile-Ife, Osun State, have now surpassed the previous record of 139 hours, 52 minutes, and 42 seconds, held by Indian professor Arvind Mishra, in the morning of Sunday, 29th of September, 2024 when he reached 142 hours.

As at the time of filing this report, the Academic is still continuing in his attempt to surpass 150-hour mark.
