Gov. Sanwo-Olu’s Aide, Emmanuel Appointed To Board Of Interferry

Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Blue Economy, Oluwadamilola Emmanuel

The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Blue Economy, Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, has been appointed to the Board of Interferry, the global association representing the international ferry industry.

His appointment was ratified at Interferry’s Annual General Meeting held on October 6, 2025, in Sorrento, Italy, where six new directors were inducted to expand the organisation’s global reach.

Emmanuel joins board members from Europe, Asia, and the Americas for a four-year term, bringing extensive expertise in marine transport development, urban ferry systems, and sustainable blue economy initiatives. Interferry praised him as “an experienced leader passionate about leveraging innovative solutions to connect communities and ensure environmental sustainability.” His pivotal role in shaping Lagos State’s integrated water transport system and advancing its blue economy agenda was also highlighted.

This milestone marks a significant step for African representation in the global maritime sector, reflecting growing recognition of Africa’s marine transport potential on the world stage. Emmanuel’s leadership promises to strengthen cooperation and innovation within the international ferry industry.
