Goronyo Leads APC Stakeholders to Rally Support for Party E-Registration
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State have resolved to intensify mobilisation efforts to ensure the success of the ongoing electronic registration of party members across the state.
A statement signed by Abdullahi Mohammed, SA Media to the Honourable Minister of State for Works, noted that the resolution was reached at a stakeholders’ meeting convened on Saturday, 24th January 2026, by the Honourable Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Esq., at his residence along Wurno Road, Sokoto.
Addressing party leaders and members at the meeting, the Minister emphasised that the e-registration exercise remains a critical foundation for strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
He explained that possession of a valid APC membership card not only confers official party membership but also guarantees eligibility to vote and be voted for in all party activities.
Rt. Hon. Goronyo urged party leaders at the ward and local government levels to take full ownership of the exercise by encouraging members to actively participate, describing the process as a strategic step toward consolidating the party ahead of future political engagements.
The meeting attracted prominent party elders and stakeholders, including Alhaji Hussaini Umar Gorau, Alhaji Adamu Joda (Chairman, APC Elders Forum), Alhaji Faruku Ahmad Rimawa, Alhaji Ummaru Shehu Goronyo, Alhaji Aminu Faruku S. Rima, the APC Chairman of Goronyo Local Government, Alhaji Sa’idu Kumaji, the Chairman of Goronyo Local Government Council, Engineer Zubairu Yari Goronyo, and the Council Secretary, Alhaji Shehu, among others.
Also in attendance were APC chairmen and secretaries from the eleven wards of the local government, councillors, and other critical stakeholders.
Deliberations at the meeting identified key challenges slowing the registration exercise, particularly the absence of National Identification Numbers (NIN) among some party members.
Participants collectively agreed on practical measures to address the challenges and ensure a smooth and hitch-free registration process.
Furthermore, the Chairman of the APC Elders Forum, Alhaji Adamu Joda, disclosed that the Honourable Minister personally donated cash to support logistics for the registration exercise and pledged to facilitate NIN enrolment for affected members.
The party elders also announced additional financial support to complement the Minister’s intervention.
The stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to party unity and grassroots mobilisation, describing the e-registration exercise as a decisive step toward building a stronger, more inclusive APC in Goronyo Local Government Area.
