Dera, Kemi demonstrate expertise in science and artistry of baking at GTCO Food and Drink Festival

Guaranty Trust Bank Holding Company Plc GTCO Food & Drink Festival with a theme that insists on “Everything Food and Drink” as both cultural promise and economic test commenced on May 1, 2026 at the GTCentre, Oniru with a Masterclass by Chefs Dera Oluyede and Kemi Anazodo who are the forces behind Jaya Confectionaries known for thoughtful approach to pastry, bread and dessert- making, demonstrating their expertise in the science and artistry of baking.

Chefs Dera Oluyede and Kemi Anazodo were at the masterclass where they displayed their expertise as Dera demonstrated the ingredients to use in preparing classical pastry and chocolate, while Kemi demonstrated the ingredients to use in preparing bread and yeasted dough. Items needed for producing desserts and baked goods that balanced flavour, texture and designs according to them includes flour, yeast, butter, white sugar, icing sugar, crumble cooky, cocoa powder, salt, brown sugar, egg and Vanilla, baking soda, among others.

Each of them demonstrated from start to finish to the audience on how to make classical pastry and chocolate, bread and yeasted dough respectively. Some kids were invited on stage to take part in the demonstration.

Chefs Dera Oluyede and Kemi Anazodo indeed shared their experiences that celebrate both the science and artistry of baking at the 9th edition of the GTCO Food & Drink Festival held in Lagos.
