FAAN Sets Agenda For Sustainable Growth, Operational Excellence At 2026 Retreat

The Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Olubunmi Kuku, has reiterated the Authority’s commitment to sustainable growth and institutional excellence for the Aviation sector following the successful conclusion of the 2026 FAAN Management Retreat.

The FAAN’s senior management team were brought together to the three-day retreat, themed “Consolidating Gains and Institutionalising Sustainable Growth”,  to review the agency’s transformation journey, strengthen institutional capacity, and align its strategic direction with evolving global aviation trends and best practices.

The team’s deliberations during the retreat centred on positioning FAAN for the future through sustained reforms, with critical sessions examining global and African airport development trends, improving process standardisation, enhancing performance management systems, and advancing infrastructure modernisation across Nigeria’s airports.

A statement issued by the Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr. Henry Agbebire, noted that the retreat also provided an opportunity for a comprehensive assessment of progress made under the Managing Director/Chief Executive’s transformative pillars, with particular emphasis on embedding sustainable growth, driving operational efficiency, fostering innovation, and delivering long-term value across FAAN’s airport network.

It emphasized that the outcomes of the retreat are expected to further strengthen the Authority’s reform agenda and reinforce its role in developing a more efficient, competitive, and globally aligned aviation sector.
