Alibuba Residents appeal to Governor Okowa for construction of road networks

The residents of Alibuba Quarters in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta have been lamenting as the rains have set in, due to the non availability of road networks in the area since the inception of Delta State.

They have therefore appealed to the State governor, Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to come to the aid of the area by providing them with good road networks to serve as a dividend of democracy from his administration.

 Gentechnews recalls that on July 29 2020, it published a story based on the report from the community titled “Residents of Alibuba in Ika South groan over two decades of road networks neglect” which was circulated up to his Excellency and his aid twitter handles.

It is noteworthy that the Commissioner for Works was acquainted through his social media handle with this development and for him to send his men for on the spot assessment of this neglected environment in Delta State.

Findings from the residents so far have indicated that no government official has ever visited the area for the purpose of assessing the areas that have been cut off in several parts by erosion in order to ameliorate their sufferings.

A renowned social commentator in the area who craves anonymity, said “The people of Alibuba quarters are only remembered during the time of election when the politicians will be canvassing for their votes with pseudo promises of constructing the road networks. Election will soon come.

“The governor is from Ika North East which was severed from the Ika South, yet there is a place which serves as a commercial hub of the state by Uromi Junction, Agbor, called Alibuba quarters still begging for government’s attention.

“As other areas are clapping with two hands for his Excellency’s achievement in the State, Alibuba residents are appealing to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to write his name in gold by giving Alibuba quarters’ good road networks after many years of acute neglect by previous administrations.”
