AAU Ekpoma Nursing Sciences Students commend former Ag. VC Adagbonyin for securing Approval/Accreditation from Nursing/Midwifery Council of Nigeria

The Department of Nursing Sciences’ Students of Ambrose Alli University, (AAU)Ekpoma have commended the immediate past Acting VC, AAU, Prof Asomwan Sonnie Adagbonyin for his dexterity and doggedness in ensuring that AAU Ekpoma finally got approval and secured the accreditation of the Nursing programme from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

Gentechnews has confirmed from the document obtained from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, that through this laudable achievement by the immediate past Acting VC, AAU, Prof Asomwan Sonnie Adagbonyin, currently, AAU Ekpoma is on the list of approved/ accredited nursing training institutions in Nigeria and their approved programme on serial number 80.
The students who pledged anonymity noted that the efforts of the immediate past Acting VC paid off because he was a listening father and achieved much in the institution before the end of his tenure at AAU Ekpoma.
“At last, we have acknowledged that our institution is now recognised by Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and so there is also a leeway for those aspiring for greener pasture to be recognised as well. We thank the former Acting VC Prof Asomwan Sonnie Adagbonyin and wish him well wherever he may be because he helped the department in so many ways while results were not being uploaded by the ICT Department on the students’ Kofa,” they emphasized.
When Gentechnews contacted the immediate past Acting VC, AAU Ekpoma, Prof Asomwan Sonnie Adagbonyin on this development, he said: “This was the last of the things I achieved with my management team for the Department of Nursing Sciences before we stepped aside- accreditation of the Nursing Programme. As a stakeholder, I know this should excite you. It was not an easy task. I took the University through this accreditation in the last few weeks before the end of 0ur tenure. To God be the glory.”
