Abiodun, Umahi Lead Crucial APC Convention Venue Inspection As Preparations Intensify

The Honourable Minister of Works, Senator, Engr. David Umahi, CON on Sunday joined leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to advance preparations for the party’s forthcoming National Convention.

A statement signed by Francis Nwaze, Senior Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Works on Media, Federal Ministry of Works, noted that Senator Umahi attended the meeting of the National Convention Sub-Committee on Venue, where he serves as Vice Chairman, with the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Dapo Abiodun, as Chairman.

At the meeting held on March 8, 2026, members reviewed key arrangements aimed at ensuring a smooth and well-organized convention. Discussions focused on critical issues including security, branding, VIP arrangements, uniforms and other logistics required for the successful hosting of the event.

Following the deliberations, members of the committee proceeded to Eagle Square, the venue of the upcoming convention, for an on-the-spot inspection to assess the level of readiness and ensure that necessary arrangements are in place.

Beyond his role on the Venue Sub-Committee, Senator Umahi also chairs the National Convention Sub-Committee on Accommodation and Transportation, where preparations are ongoing to guarantee smooth movement and adequate lodging for delegates and party leaders expected at the convention.
