ANLCA Rejects Nigerian Shippers’ Council’s N30,000 Registration Fee

The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has announced that its members will not pay the N30,000 registration fee imposed on its members by the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC).

ANLCA National President, Emenike Nwokeji made this disclosure on Friday after a meeting at the association’s secretariat.

Nwokeji  said “Shippers Council came up with a flier that they are going to be regulating us but we are yet to contact them to know how many agencies of government will be regulating us. If you want to regulate us without payment, no problem but all this is just multiplication of revenue for those agencies. We are to pay N30,000 per year and we say no to that.”

He highlighted that during the meeting, leaders of the association deliberated on other pertinent issues concerning its members, which include renewal of licenses by members, payment of dues and chapters executives, among others.

ANLCA National President revealed that member of the association resolved that they must renew their customs licenses before the end of April.

According to him, “sole administrators” were appointed for its chapters which include Tin Can Island, Apapa and Kirikiri Lighter Terminal, all in Lagos that have factional executives
