Arik Air Wins JCNC Award for Labour Friendly Airline of the Year 2024

Arik Air, one of Nigeria’s leading airlines, has won the prestigious Labor Friendly Airline of the Year 2024 award presented by the Joint Consultative and Negotiating Council (JCNC).

The JCNC, an umbrella body comprising four trade unions in the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, presented the award to Arik Air in recognition of its commitment to maintaining positive labour relations and promoting a conducive work environment for its employees.

This award highlights Arik Air’s dedication to upholding the highest standards of labor practices and its position as a responsible and employee-centric organization.

The award was presented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, who represented the Minister at the 11th edition of the Aviation Workers Week held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja on February 25, 2025.

Receiving the award, the Chairman of National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE), Arik Air chapter, Engineer Mudi Muhammad, who represented the Chief Executive Officer of the Airline, Captain Roy Ilegbodu, thanked JCNC for finding Arik Air deserving of such a great award and promised that the management would continue to build a more lasting relationship with the workers and unions.

Speaking on the award, the CEO of Arik Air, Captain Roy Ilegbodu said: “We are honoured to have received the Labour Friendly Airline of the Year award from the JCNC of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development. The Receivership team has always prioritised the welfare of Arik Air workers since taking over in 2017″.

Arik Air has been honoured twice by the JCNC of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.
