Breaking: Buhari approves reopening of Seme Border, three others

President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government has finally approved the reopening of four land borders with immediate effect.

The government also promised that others will be reopened subsequently.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Finance Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, after the held week’s virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, December 16.

Ahmed explained that the restriction on the importation of some commodities, like rice and other products, would continue to be enforced.

The borders that are opened for now include Seme Border in the Southwest, Ilela Border in the Northwest, Mfun Border in the Southsouth and Maigatari Border in the Northwest.
