Communiqué of Njiko Aniocha-Oshimili Landmark Summit & Annual Conference 2025

• On Unity, Development, Security, and the Future of the Aniocha-Oshimili People

The Njiko Aniocha-Oshimili Summit and Annual Conference 2025 was held on 29 December 2025 at Ogwa Ukwu Ahaba, Delta State, Nigeria, under the theme: “Unity, Development and Security: Unifying Development and Securing the Vision, Aspirations and Future of the Aniocha-Oshimili People.”

The summit brought together traditional rulers, elected representatives, community development unions, professionals, academics, security experts, youths, women leaders, and other stakeholders from across Aniocha-Oshimili.

The conference was graced by HRM Asagba Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, OON, SAN, FNIAL, FICMIC, KSJI, KSG,  the Asagba of Asaba, as Chief Host, alongside twenty traditional rulers from Aniocha-Oshimili communities. Also in attendance, including over thirty-five Presidents General of various towns’ Development Unions, were representatives of the Federal House of Representatives and the Delta State House of Assembly, local government chairmen, heads of government agencies, diplomats, captains of industry, and notable scholars.

Keynote presentations and expert discussions focused on unity, inclusive development, security architecture, youth empowerment, governance, and accountability.

Key Observations

Participants noted:

• The urgent need for stronger unity and cohesion among Aniocha-Oshimili communities.
• Rising security challenges requiring coordinated community and institutional responses.
• The central role of youth, women, and economic empowerment in sustainable development.
•   The importance of accountable and inclusive leadership.

Resolutions

The summit resolved to:

1. Redraft and strengthen the Njiko Aniocha-Oshimili constitution to reflect summit outcomes and best practices.
2. Restructure the union to inclusively accommodate traditional rulers, community leaders, youths, elected representatives, and key stakeholders.
3. Collaborate with relevant government agencies to enhance community security and protect forests and livelihoods.
4. Institutionalize accountability through regular town-hall engagements with public office holders.
5. Prioritize youth, community, and women empowerment programmes focused on leadership, entrepreneurship, and economic development.
6.  Adopt Njiko Aniocha-Oshimili as the official mouthpiece of the Aniocha-Oshimili people worldwide.
7. The conference recognized the imperative of promoting and speaking Enuani Language as the primary communication instrument during community public gatherings.

Recognition

The summit honoured six illustrious sons and daughters of Aniocha-Oshimili for outstanding contributions to society, leadership, and national development.

Call to Action

Njiko Aniocha-Oshimili calls on all stakeholders—traditional institutions, political leaders, professionals, youths, women, and the diaspora—to work collectively toward sustained unity, security, and development of the Aniocha-Oshimili people, in alignment with national development goals.
