Ndume, the Borno state senator in the Senate and the Chairman, Senate Committee on Army, is standing as a surety to Maina, who is facing a 12-count charge bordering on fraud.
Alternatively, the court said Ndume, should remain in custody until he is able to pay the N500 million bail bond to the treasury of the Federal Government or forfeit his property located on Plot 158, Cadastral Zone, Asokoro District of Abuja to the Federal Government.
