David Opeyemi becomes Vice President, World Trade Centre

David Opeyemi

David Opeyemi has been announced as the Vice President, World Trade Centre, Lagos.

In his new role, Opeyemi is to reposition Lagos and Nigeria, as a serious global trade gateway, at a time when Africa’s role in the world economy is being redefined.

“Lagos has always been more than a city. It is a meeting point of enterprises, innovation, logistic capital, and ambition. As Africa’s commercial nerve centre, it true potential lies in how effectively it connects our business industries, and ideas to global markets.

“That is the work before us, leveraging World Trade Centre Association and its global network,” he said.

According to him, “My passion for the African continent has always been rooted in a simple belief. Africa does not lack opportunity; it lacks platforms that convert potential into participation. World Trade Centre Lagos represent one of such platform designed to facilitate Trade, enable partnership and aligned Nigeria more deliberately with global commerce.

“I look forward to collaborate with the government, the organised private sector, investor, development partners, and trade institutions across Africa and the world. Institution succeed when they are built together.”
