Delta State: Oborevwori Urges Shell, Others To Relocate Back To Warri

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has called on Shell Petroleum Development Corporation (SPDC) and other multinational investors to return to Warri, Delta State, noting that the MORE Agenda of the state government was capable of creating a conducive environment for international oil companies (IOCs) and other multinational organisations to thrive in the commercial hub of the state.

Gov. Oborevwori made the call to the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited Joint Venture (JV), during the Nigeria’s 63rd Independence celebration at the SPDC residential area in PortHarcourt, Rivers State.

The governor, who was represented by the Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Olorogun Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, announced that with the peace and understanding now in place amongst the inhabitants of Warri metropolis and its environs, the area was now fully ready to host all the multinational companies as it was in the 70s to early 90s.

He urged SPDC to return and occupy their exalted position so as to play more prominent roles in building the society of our dreams in Delta State.

According to the governor “Deltans are peace loving individuals and the environment is very conducive for you to operate in with the MORE AGENDA of the government in place.

“All issues regarding hostility are now alien. All the ethnic groups in Warri now live to gather as one indivisible family with the understanding that in the absence of peace, a viable economy cannot be guaranteed for the people.”
