Ebonyi South Major Stakeholders Eulogize Gov Nwifuru Over Successful Outcome of Senatorial District Bye-Election

In what appears to be an unprecedented move to give honour  to whom honour is due, a delegation  of  the five Local Government Areas  that make up  Ebonyi South Senatorial District has visited  the Governor  of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FNIOB, GGCEHF, to thank him for his  encouragement  and fatherly  advice that saw to the hitch free and  successful  outcome of  Ebonyi South Senatorial District bye-election held on  3rd February, 2024 and which saw to the victory of Prof Anthony Okorie Ani of All Progressives Congress, APC as the Senator- elect of Ebonyi South Senatorial District.

A statement issued by Hon. Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji, Special Adviser to the Honourable Minister of Works, noted that the delegation, which was led by the Deputy Governor of the State, Her Excellency, Princess Patricia Obila, was made up of the major stakeholders from five the Local Government Areas of the Senatorial District.

Speaking during the visit, the Governor of Ebonyi State thanked the people of Ebonyi South Senatorial District especially the All Progressives Congress, (APC) faithfuls for their agility all through the campaign period and their ability to stand firm during the bye- election and thus achieved a resounding victory for APC.

He noted the challenges encountered by the people during the bye- election but expressed satisfaction with their graciousness in victory.

He reiterated the commitment of his administration towards providing equal  opportunities and leverages to all  the Zones of the State as contained  in his  People’s Charter of Needs.

While presenting the brand new Senator- elect, the Deputy Governor of the State  and leader of the delegation also conveyed to the Governor of Ebonyi  State the  deepest  appreciation  of the Honourable  Minister of Works  and immediate  past Governor  of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Sen. Engr Nweze David Umahi, FNSE FNATE CON GGCEHF for being  there  always  for the people  of Ebonyi South  and for the  honour of producing a round peg to succeed  him in the 10th Senate. The Deputy Governor expressed the commitment of the people of Ebonyi South stakeholders towards honouring his Divine Mandate administration, always with total loyalty and solidarity.

In their separate speeches, the spokespersons for each of the Local Government Areas thanked the Governor for encouraging them to have a hitchfree election and seamless victory, which produced one of the best brains from the Zone, Professor  Anthony  Okorie Ani to represent  Ebonyi South Senatorial District  in the 10th Senate.

They expressed confidence in the competence and will of the Senator- elect to fill the gap in the vacuum created by the immediate past representative of the Zone in the red chamber who resigned from the Senate in August, 2023 for further national service as Honourable Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
