Ecobank Mobile, Omnilite Apps Enable Customers’ Instant Money Transfers Across Africa
Ecobank has introduced a new feature that allows its customers to transfer money swiftly to 33 African countries where the Ecobank Group operates.

By utilizing the Ecobank Mobile and Omnilite apps, customers can now send funds within seconds, and the recipient will receive immediate credit in their local currency.
The Head of Consumer Banking at Ecobank Nigeria, Korede Demola-Adeniyi, made this announcement in Lagos, highlighting that domiciliary account holders can easily send up to $10,000 at a time without any obstacles.
Currently, Ecobank operates in several African regions, including West, Central, East, and Southern Africa. Some of the countries covered by Ecobank’s services are Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cape Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, South Sudan, Gabon, Ghana, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome & Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Demola-Adeniyi explained that the inclusion of Foreign Currency transfer on the Ecobank Mobile and Omnilite apps aligns with the innovative trends in the banking industry.
The enhancement aims to facilitate and promote seamless cross-border business and financial transactions. She encouraged individuals who have not yet established a business relationship with Ecobank to open an account online through www.ecobank.com or visit any of their branches.
Demola-Adeniyi hinted that the Ecobank Mobile App caters to all customers’ digital banking needs, while Omnilite primarily serves business owners.
To access the Ecobank Mobile app, follow these steps:
Log in to your account and navigate to the menu.
Locate the “Transfer” option.
Select the “Ecobank Africa” transfer option and indicate the destination country.
Choose the preferred mode of delivery for the transfer, such as CASH, WALLET, INTERBANK, ECOBANK ACCOUNT, or XPRESS ACCOUNT.
Provide accurate recipient details and specify the reason for the transfer.
Enter the desired transfer amount and finalize the transaction by pressing the “Send” button.
To access Omni Lite, follow these steps:
Visit www.ecobank.com or log in via the Omni Lite mobile app.
Provide your username and password to log in.
Click on the toggle menu button at the top left of the home page.
Select the transaction option and choose “Ecobank Africa.”
Select the USD account to debit.
Choose the destination country.
Input the beneficiary account details, confirm the information, and click on next.
Enter the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number and/or email address.
Input the token generated on the Ecobank authenticator app for amounts exceeding 1,000,000 Naira or its equivalent in foreign currency.
While cash transfers are limited to $10,000 per day, there are no such restrictions for international transfers not funded by foreign currency cash. Ecobank aims to broaden the boundaries of your finances effortlessly.
