EFCC arrests 33 yahoo boys in Abeokuta
- Picks 39 alleged internet fraudsters in Owo, Abuja
Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), last week arrested 33 internet fraud suspects, also known as ‘Yahoo-Yahoo Boys’ in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The suspects were apprehended at Adigbe, Oloke, Ibara Housing Estate Extension and IdiOri areas of the Ogun State capital, following actionable intelligence earlier received on their alleged criminal activities.
The suspects include Sodiq Kotoye, Lawal Sofiu Temitope, Abiola Gabriel Oladimeji, Olufowobi Adeniyi, Lateef Taiwo, Oyebasi Damilola, Oluwatoyin Awonuga, Akinbode Azeez, Kayode Victor, Sulaimon Abdulahi, AdekonaTolani, Babatunde Rotimi, Oduwole Olatokunbo, Fatai Habeeb, Fashola Pelumi, Obitokun Olugbade, Atewojaye Oluwadamilare, Fawaz Calfos, , Obadina Tobi Godfrey, Eugushi Mumuni, Ehis Hopkins, Kolawole Bankole, Balogun Toheeb. Others are: Alaka Ismail, Adebowale Babatunde, Yusuf Ajibola, Adeoye Hammed, Omolayo Odutola, Musabaudeen Azeez Ayomide, Anifowoshe Babamide, Habeeb Ibrahim, Oladimeji Odunayo, Opatola Malik Sunday, Items recovered from them include eighteen cars, mobile phones, laptops and several incriminating documents. They will soon be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are concluded.
Meanwhile, Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Benin Zonal Office, through its intelligence gathering operation code-named ‘Erinle,’ today Wednesday April 28, 2021 arrested 34 alleged internet fraudsters in Owo, Ondo State. Those arrested are Adesuyan Ayoola, Oyesanmi Shola, Adegbole Victor, Osagie Ekiende, Akinayomide Damilare, Balogun Mayowa, Obadapo Wale, Ese Stephen, Atakili Pelumi, Adesumo Fatai Olalekan, Demi Temidayo, Oshorun Joseph and Oluwafemi Damilola Michael. Items recovered from the suspects include nine exotic cars, laptops computers, mobile phones, documents and identity cards.
The suspects have made useful statement and will be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are completed.
It also, noted that the EFCC also arrested five suspected internet fraudsters. The suspects: Emeto Jude Ikenna, Miracle Temple, Victor Onyekachi, Silver Matthew Kingsley and Promise Emmanuel, were arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at their hideouts, roomC9,Ibanu Suite, Mabushi and F01 Kubwa, Abuja. Items recovered from them include one Toyota Camry, one Lap top and mobile phones. The suspects will be charge to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
