FIRS, Customs Partner to Implement National Single Window

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have strengthened collaboration to fast-track the implementation of the Nigerian National Single Window (NSW).
This is a unified digital trade platform expected to transform cargo clearance, improve transparency, and boost government revenue.
At a strategic meeting on August 12, 2025, held at the NCS headquarters in Abuja, Comptroller General of Customs, Alhaji Bashir Adewale Adeniyi (MFR), and FIRS Executive Chairman, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, agreed to accelerate the project’s rollout as part of Nigeria’s wider trade facilitation reforms.
The Nigerian National Single Window will integrate all import, export, and transit trade procedures into a single electronic gateway, cutting bureaucracy, reducing costs, and enhancing Nigeria’s global trade competitiveness.
Both leaders described the initiative as critical to unlocking private sector confidence, curbing leakages, and creating a transparent, technology-driven system that aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s digital economy and revenue growth agenda.
