First Lady, NITDA lift Delta Technical College, Asaba, 9 Others with e-Learning Centres

To bridge Nigeria’s digital divide and empower communities across the nation, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in collaboration with Renewed Hope Initiative, (RHI) today, commissioned 10 Digital Economy Centres across Nigeria, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities that provide access to modern technology, learning tools, and connectivity.

The centres were commissioned virtually by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, reaffirming the government’s commitment to inclusive digital growth and empowerment.

These centres serve as innovation hubs where students, entrepreneurs, and citizens can learn digital skills, explore emerging technologies, and unlock new opportunities in today’s knowledge-driven economy.

The centres are: Women Development Centre,  Umuahia, Abia State; Model Technical College, Asaba, Delta State; Ujabhole Grammar School Irrua, Esan Central, Edi, Edo State; ICT Centre, Tsanyawa, Kano State; Model Primary School, Matazu, Katsina State; Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Ikorodu, Lagos State; TAAL eLibrary, Lafia, Nassarawa State; Ondo State Public Service Institute,  Ilara Mokin, Ondo State; Shehu Sule College of Nursing, Damaturu, Yobe State; and Zamfara State Library Board, Gusau, Zamfara State.

NITDA is bringing technology closer to the people, fostering inclusion, and driving the vision of a digitally empowered and globally competitive Nigeria in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Speaking during the inauguration, Mrs Tinubu commended NITDA for collaborating with the Renewed Hope Initiative to promote digital education and prepare young Nigerians for future opportunities.

“In the nearest future, every nook and cranny of our country will be digitalised. I officially inaugurated these 10 ICT centres across Nigeria,” she added.
