Glo commends Nigerians’ patriotism on Democracy Day
National telecommunications company, Globacom, has commended the patriotism of the Nigerian people which has sustained the country’s democracy in the last 22 years.

Globacom in a Democracy Day statement released in Lagos in commemoration of the 22nd anniversary of the country’s return to civilian rule congratulated Nigerians for keeping faith with our democracy and supporting the nation all through the years.
The company called on Nigerians to continue to support government at all levels in the country in order to fulfill the dreams of its founding fathers.
Maintaining that there can never be development in the absence of peace, Glo which described Nigerians as resourceful, diligent and hardworking people, urged them to be determined to sustain peace and unity of the country and promote national development
Glo stated further that “democracy, globally acclaimed as the best form of governance, has taken root in the country in the last twenty two years”, adding that “all hands must be on deck to ensure that it is not only sustained but becomes well nurtured in the years ahead”.
June 12 is being marked as Democracy Day for the second time this year following the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to move the celebration to the anniversary of the annulled June 12 election in 1993 which had late Chief Moshood Abiola as winner of the presidential election.
