Gov. Oborevwori urged to use N2bn to construct Aliboba Community Roads in Ika South LGA, Agbor
One of the cheering news is the deliberate interventions in infrastructure towards sustainable and even development across Delta State as the administration of Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is said to have invested N2 billion on roads in each of the 25 local government areas of Delta State.
Investigation by Gentechnews indicated that the state government M.O.R.E. a developmental agenda which “is anchored on a foundation of inclusiveness, fiscal responsibility and grassroots development” is commendable, but there are local communities such as Aliboba Commuinity in Ika South LGA, Agbor that have had no road network for over 30 years.
The stakeholders in Aliboba Community in Ika South LGA, Agbor want the Delta Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu to explain how the invested N2 billion on roads in each of the 25 local government areas of Delta State will benefit Aliboba Community in Ika South, LGA, Agbor as the area has been devastated by flooding and erosion.
Gentechnews commends Governor Oborevwori for personally visiting the areas where contracts have been awarded and want to say that the whistle blower’s initiative of the state government does not include areas that have been abandoned, neglected without any road network since the inception of Delta State.
Governor Oborevwori should personally visit Aliboba Community in Ika South LGA, Agbor to see on the spot the magnitude of suffering of the residents of this area which is located from Uromi junction to Agbor Technical College to Ime Obi in Agbor Obi Town, who use only bush paths to navigate their homes.
This is commercial area where both state and local government generate revenue, but always forgotten by successive regime in Delta State. There is the Delta Line office, Hotels, Petrol Service stations, stores, local palm oil refining spot, among others.
Gentechnews believe that Governor Oborevwori will change the narrative of this area by construction of good road networks, where the former governor Okowa and the current Delta Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu were privy to and did noting about it for eight years.
