Harris Commends GTCO Food and Drink as a Huge Festival Destination in Lagos

Hardette Harris is a renowned Chef on a mission to preserve the rich culinary tradition of North Louisiana. She has dedicated her career to championing the region’s unique food culture from its home-grown ingredients to the dishes that tells its story. She thrilled the audience with her dexterity at her master class themed: ‘It’s What We Eat’ Harris spoke in a brief interview after her masterclass with the press at the Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO) Food and Drink Festival that held in Victoria Island, Lagos, Write Editor Gentechnews, Tony Nwakaegho.

I am Chef Hardette Harris. I celebrate the North Louisiana Cuisine. I am so happy being here to show to the world that everybody knows about Louisiana, everybody knows about New Orleans around the world but does not know that the entire state does not eat cuisine. I celebrate my cuisine in an attentive way. It is a thing that we eat all the time. I have been working with some the students in the culinary school here, absolutely amazing. They made a room for my breathing perfect. So, I said to them learn all the basic and when you finish there, get to the practical work and learn the entire culinary work, harmonizing everything and you will utilize everything you have learnt the way you want,

What impact has the GTCO food and drink festival made on the young ones, vendors and the citizens?

Well, coming here, I see a lot of people at the GTCO food and drink festival from Lagos and the surrounding areas and I highly recommend that this is the destination for it in the state because they have more vendors than you could count selling food, deserts and so on. I believe that this is a huge festival with so many eyes on it. It is a win-win situation for them to be invited, so I hope they do well. I am going to go and try as much as I can and know that being here you have already won.
