For Type 1 Diabetes, insulin therapy is essential since the pancreas cannot produce insulin. It is delivered via injections, pens, or insulin pumps to move glucose into cells for energy.

For Type 2 Diabetes, several classes of drugs are used:

* Metformin: This is often the first line of treatment. It reduces the amount of glucose your liver produces and improves how your body responds to insulin.

* GLP-1 Receptor Agonists: They work by stimulating the release of insulin, reducing the speed at which food leaves the stomach, and may also promote weight loss.
