Keyamo Pledges Not To Disrupt Aviation Road Map, To Make Transparency His Watchword

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development of Nigeria, Festus Keyamo, who has assumed duty, pledged not to disrupt the aviation roadmap and to make transparency his watchword.

Keyamo disclosed this in his remark with the Directors and staff of the Ministry when he assumed duty, noting that he has read the previous aviation road map.

The minister said, “I have read the roadmap, the one developed in 2016, I read it thoroughly, our intention is not to disrupt things that have been done so well if there are things that have not been done so well, we will look at it thoroughly.

“We may have to add to the roadmap but not pull it down totally because I know it was a product of a roundtable, so if it was well thought out, I like the structure that I saw”.

He maintained that his appointment by President Bola Tinubu was not a mistake, stressing that he intends to get briefings from departments and agencies in the next few days and come up with their own proposals to develop the sector.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole speaking on behalf of the Directors and staff of the Ministry, expressed happiness and preparedness of staff to work with the Minister.

Meribole  said ‘‘We know you are here to continue the good work of Mr. President as concerns the aviation sector and we assure you of our commitment to make sure we delivered our mandate.’’
