Keyamo seeks cutting-edge technological runway solutions for Nigeria’s airports
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo is exploring cutting-edge technological solutions to bolster safety, operational efficiency and sustainability across Nigeria’s airports.
Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister, Mr Tunde Moshood, disclosed this in a statement, adding that Keyamo visited HOG Technologies, a global leader in runway de-rubberization equipment, at their headquarters in Stuart, Florida.
Moshood said the minister was accompanied by the MD/CEO of Barnksforte Group Ltd, Mr Adedayo Bankole; and CEO of International Trade Exchange LLC, representatives of HOG Technologies in Nigeria and Africa, Mr Bishop Adejube.
The statement reads: “The Minister was warmly received by Founder and CEO of HOG Technologies, Mr James Crocker; and Vice President of Global Sales, Mr. Matt Butcher.
“During the visit, the Minister observed a live demonstration of HOG Technologies’ state-of-the-art runway de-rubberization equipment, which gave him an insight into the innovative technologies that could address Nigeria’s aviation challenges.
“Mr Crocker emphasised the suitability of HOG Technologies’ solutions for Nigeria’s high-traffic and regional airports, highlighting the equipment’s efficiency and sustainability. He also revealed plans to establish a regional training and support centre in Nigeria to foster capacity building and technology transfer.
“This visit marks a pivotal step in our mission to elevate Nigeria’s aviation standards. The insights and opportunities gained during this engagement lay the foundation for transformative advancements in safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
“Part of what could be our strategic priorities, according to the Minister, is to acquire HOG Technologies’ de-rubberization equipment for major Nigerian airports, launch a pilot project at a high-traffic airport and also collaborate to train Nigerian technical teams.
“This collaboration with HOG Technologies aligns with the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development’s vision to modernize infrastructure, adopt global best practices, and ensure Nigeria’s aviation sector remains a key driver of economic growth and sustainability.”
