MAN, African business council applaud trading on basis of AfCFTA

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) and African Business Council have commended the 53 leadership of African Union (AU) for approving the start of trading on the Basis of the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) describing the move as “the game changer” to promote inter African trade”.
This fact is contained in a MAN’s media statement signed by the body’s Director General Segun Ajayi – Kadirand made available to Gentechnews over the weekend in Lagos.
The statement stressed that the trading signified that AfCFTAhas fully started and business among African countries will witness a boom.
The statement said Africa 1.2 billion huge population would benefit from the sales, adding that Africa business would be better for it.
The MAN’s statement said, “the leadership of MAN and other Africa’s continent business stakeholders are delighted by the commencement of the trading of the basis of the AfCFTA. This is a welcome development to signpost that AFCFTA has come to stay”.
It would be recalled that AfCFTA started on January 1, 2021 after 53 out of the 54 African leaders rectified the agreement.
