MAN host 6th Edition of Media Luncheon, Reporters Award

  • Commends Media for Good Reportage of Real Sector.

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has hosted the 6th Edition of the media luncheon and the reporter’s of the Year awards at its Corporate Headquarters in Lagos.

The President MAN, Engr. Mansur Ahmed in his welcome address acknowledged the benefit which the manufacturing sector has achieved over the years through the quality reportage of their activities and assured that media award would be sustained and improved upon in terms of outcome and prizes.

Mansur stated that the manufacturing sector is the key driver of the nation’s economy and an arrowhead in African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement on how to accelerate the rate of implementation.

He disclosed that in November 2021 MAN participated in the Africa Trade Fair Business Community held in Durban, South Africa.

He also hinted that was the first time that MAN organised an exhibition during the trade fair, adding that about $42bn bill was signed at the event.

According to him, the participation of Nigeria was acknowledged from the SMEs, among others, adding that MAN is looking to a bright future for Nigeria and Africa.

The MAN president urged all to focus on the growth of the industry in Nigeria and Africa as the years ahead will see that the relationship is strengthened  for the growth of the country and the economy.

“This year, we shall endeavour to work more closely with you, our partners, to explore innovative and more strategic advocacy mechanisms that will scale-up the performance of the manufacturing sector and its contribution to the economy.

“Let me once again say thank you and congratulations in advance to our award winners, you deserve all the attention you are getting today from the leading national business membership organization in Africa,” he added.

On his part, the DG MAN, Mr Segun Ajayi-Kadiri, mni, also appreciated the media in all their activities as the Association marked 50 last year and came up with a new logo, vision statement and mission statement.

Ajayi-Kadiri also congratulated all the winners of the 2021 MAN Reporter of the year awards.
