Medical Laboratory Science Graduates of AAU, Ekpoma Appeal To Ag. VC, Adagbonyin To Release 2020/2021 Results

There is palpable fear by students who graduated from the Medical Laboratory Science Department of Ambrose Alli University, (AAU), Ekpoma since 2020/2021 that their future looks bleak, having passed through the institution without getting their results.

Serial investigations and reportage by Gentechnews set the tune for some other departments in the same session to get approval for their results recently, but there appears to be a culture of silence on the Medical Laboratory Science Department results.

However, the Medical Laboratory Science Department delay in getting the 2020/2021 results out appear to be shrouded in secrecy after the expiration of the deadline of November 20, 2023 given by the school management for the completion of the outstanding results from all Departments to the Information Communications Technology Department, (ICT).

The students of Medical Laboratory Science Department, who graduated since 2020/2021 informed the Gentechnews that there appear to be no light at the end of the tunnel with respect to their results and Gentechnews also never got any response to the enquiry about this Medical Laboratory Science Department, graduate students’ results from the  Acting VC AAU, Prof Asomwan Sonnie Adagbonyin when he was approached for comment or reaction.

The question on every lip now is why is it difficult for AAU Ekpoma to release the results of the graduates of the Medical Laboratory Science Department from 2020/2021 till date.

Mrs Maureen Mordi from Delta State lamented that her hope in sponsoring her ward to study in AAU Ekpoma is laying in abeyance because she has no result and she is not getting younger after four years of fruitless waiting for her results to be approved by the School Senate and be released.

“AAU Ekpoma has disappointed many parents and from the trend of events many parents may not advise their wards to seek admission in the institution, where students graduate after many years without results or certificates,” Mordi added.

Mr Kelvin Adejumo from Lagos, stated that the school management should come out to tell the whole world why AAU Ekpoma has not been able to release the Medical Laboratory Science Department graduate students’ results after four years.

“It is unfortunate that many of these graduates cannot be mobilized for NYSC due to age, while organisations too may not employ them as a result of the age most organisations set for those they want to employ. AAU is now trying to make attending a school a kill-joy for both students and their parents.

“The acting VC AAU, Prof Asomwan Sonnie Adagbonyin and the Senate should please do the needful and ensure that the results of the Medical Laboratory Science Department for 2020/2021 are released without any further delay,” Adejumo emphasized.

Mr David Niyi from Ondo State urged the National University Commission, (NUC) to rise to the occasion and investigate this AAU Ekpoma delay in releasing four years graduates result saga in order to ensure their release and ameliorate the pains that their parents are passing through after funding their children education with nothing to show for it, up until now.

“It is a shame that in this digital age, students’ results will linger for four years and still count without any sanction on those responsible for the delay and taking steps to avoid a recurrence,” Niyi said.
