Military Raids Zamfara Forest, Kills Bandit Leaders, Others
Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft, under Operation Hadarin Daji, acting on credible intelligence bombarded the bandit’s enclaves, at Gusami Forest and Tsamre Village in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara State and killed wanted bandit leaders, Alhaji Auta, and Kachalla Ruga.
The notorious bandit commanders and their cohorts met their waterloo after multiple airstrikes by the NAF jet in the early hours of yesterday.
A military intelligence officer source confirmed that dozens of bandits who had converged at Auta’s residence for his burial were also struck by missiles of the military jet, resulting in the death of an unconfirmed number of bandits.
The source added that follow-up airstrikes conducted by the NAF fighter aircraft on fleeing bandits and those who took cover under trees within the area led to further casualties on the side of the bandits.
The source disclosed however, that the whereabouts of other notorious bandits like Alhaji Nashama, Shingi and Halilu remain unknown for now, adding that they may either be incapacitated or on the run.
The military source revealed that aggressive bombardments by NAF aircrafts in recent times have been very precise and effective in hitting bandits’ enclaves, eliminating their leaderships and followers.
The source hinted that these operations have reassured citizens of the commitment and dedication of the military and other security agencies, towards bringing the threats by the bandits to an end in no distant time.
He enjoined the citizens, especially those around the affected communities to continually provide security agencies with credible information towards tackling the threats to their lives and livelihood.
