NACCIMA engages Diplomatic Community to tap into opportunities in Nigeria

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has engaged the international community and urged them to look beyond the political and economic challenges facing the country, noting that there were many opportunities in Nigeria that were waiting to be tapped for maximum return on investment.

NACCIMA National President, Ide John Udeagbala, who made this known at NACCIMA’s diplomatic luncheon in Abuja, organized as a way of showcasing the capacity and potentials of members composed of 63 City Chambers, excluding Bilateral Chambers, hundreds of Corporate Members, and 30,000   Business entities to the diplomatic community.

He charged the diplomatic community that they should bother on the results expected to increase foreign direct investment (FDI) into Nigeria.

He stated further that the diplomatic community should look beyond Nigeria’s challenges and focus on its strength in making representation on Nigeria’s behalf to the private sector of their various countries.

Udeagbala said NACCIMA was ready to partner with the diplomatic community for beneficial relationships that would spur investment and trade facilitation.

He reassured of his administration readiness to deepen and expand its collaboration with the private sector of their countries through available platforms.

In his words: “Our interactions are largely with the Economic/ Commercial and the Consular/ Visa Service sections of your embassies. We seek regular engagement with these sections and exchange of business opportunities as they arise.

“NACCIMA is prepared to facilitate opportunities for companies seeking partnership and strategic collaboration.

“We seek for your assistance in capacity building, information sharing, and technology transfer for our businessmen, young entrepreneurs, and women, especially now that we are involved in the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).

“Accordingly, we propose quarterly meetings with your officials to review the business environment, assess growth, and review the challenges, among other things. We have a Trade Missions Committee that has the mandate to facilitate the meetings, and maintain contact with them.”
