NCC board seeks partnership with Lagos state to strengthen telecom sector
The Board of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), led by Chairman Chief Idris Olorunnimbe, recently paid a courtesy visit to Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu in a planned move to strengthen Nigeria’s telecommunications sector.
The high-level engagement centered on deepening collaboration between the NCC and the Lagos State Government to tackle key industry challenges and drive sustainable growth in the telecom ecosystem. Discussions also emphasized opportunities for joint initiatives that could enhance infrastructure, innovation, and service delivery across the state’s bustling digital landscape.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, who received the delegation, reaffirmed Lagos State’s firm commitment to partnering with the Commission.
The governor also assured of the State’s dedication to supporting the Commission’s efforts in addressing sectoral hurdles and fostering a thriving telecommunications environment, thus highlighting the synergy’s potential to propel economic development.

Stakeholders opined that such partnerships will accelerate broadband penetration and position Lagos as a telecom hub in West Africa.
