NCC EVC Dr. Maida, Swedish Ambassador Hahn-Englund meet to Promote Capacity Building, Skills Development Initiatives.

The Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida, played host to the Swedish Ambassador, Her Excellency Annika Hahn-Englund, during her courtesy visit to the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting served as a platform for Dr. Aminu Maida and Ambassador Annika Hahn-Englund to deliberate and reinforce the ongoing partnership between the NCC and Sweden, particularly focusing on capacity building and skills development initiatives.
Dr. Maida and Ambassador Hahn-Englund engaged during their discussion in various areas of collaboration aimed at enhancing the telecommunications industry in Nigeria.
One significant aspect emphasized was the exchange of best practices between the NCC and its Swedish counterparts, which plays a crucial role in strengthening the Knowledge Pillar of the Strategic Blueprint for the industry set forth by the immediate past Minister of the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami.
Dr. Maida highlighted during their deliberation on the importance of leveraging opportunities for NCC staff to learn from their Swedish counterparts, thereby enriching their knowledge and skills in telecommunications management and regulation.
According to the EVC, this exchange program not only contributes to the professional development of the Commission’s workforce but also nurtures stronger ties between Nigeria and Sweden in the telecommunications sector.
On her part, Ambassador Hahn-Englund expressed her commitment to supporting initiatives that will promote bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Sweden, particularly in areas that contribute to the growth and sustainability of the telecommunications industry.
She lauded the NCC for its proactive approach in seeking partnerships for capacity building and declared Sweden’s readiness to collaborate further in achieving mutual objectives.
Both parties reiterated their commitment to advancing collaboration and knowledge-sharing initiatives, highlighting the importance of strategic partnerships in driving innovation and progress in the telecommunications sector.
