Niger Delta Group lauds Buhari for appointing Tombomieye as Upstream Sector NNPC Chief
A group, Niger Delta Youth Coalition, has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing a Niger Deltan, Mr. Adokiye Tombomieye, as Chief Executive Officer in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
Leader of the group, Comrade Odih Rowland, who made the commendation in Abuja, hinted that Tombomieye, who would be heading the upstream sector of NNPC, would deliver on the assignment, stressing that he has risen from a lower level in the corporation over the years.
Rowland opined that the appointment was done with merit, and without any form of sentiment, adding that by the appointment, President Buhari has demonstrated his trust and confidence in the good people of the Niger Delta region.
The leader of the Niger Delta Youth Coalition, however charged the appointees to justify the appointment by living up to the expectations of Mr. President as well as work on the mantra of change in the petroleum sector.
Rowland, appealed to the President to appoint more Niger Delta sons and daughters into the corporation.
