Nigeria Super Eagles Record Biggest Win with 10-0 Defeat of Sao Tome and Principe

Nigeria Super Eagles made history on Monday following their 10-0 defeat of Sao Tome and Principe in their second 2023 Africa Cup of nations qualifier in Agadir, Morocco.

The victory sent to archives the 10-1 defeat of Dahomey, now Benin Republic by the then Red Devils in a Kwame Nkrumah Cup match in Lagos on 28th November 1959.

In the qualifier, Victor Osimhen scored four goals, while Terem Moffi scored a brace to lead the Super Eagles of Nigeria demolition of Sao Tome and Principe.

Osimhen opened the score sheet in the 9th minute of the tie, before adding one each in the 48th, 65th, and 84th minutes. This was his first hat-trick and haul for the senior team.

Terem Moffi netted twice, just as Oghenekaro Etebo, Simon Moses, and Ademola Lookman got one each in the tie.

Watford star Emmanuel Dennis, who was introduced in the later stages of the match, grabbed a goal to complete the demolition in the game played in Morocco.

Before the game, the Super Eagles have never beaten any team with such a high margin, thereby setting the record under Coach Jose Peseiro.
