NITDA, WiCyS Collaborate to Empower Women on Cybersecurity in Abuja

As part of engagement to celebrate International Women’s Day, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in collaboration with Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS), hosted the Cyber for Women Training themed “Empowering Women in Cybersecurity” at Novare Central Mall, Abuja, reinforcing the Agency’s commitment to bridging the gender gap in Nigeria’s cybersecurity ecosystem.

Delivering a keynote on behalf of the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa, Dr. Ayodele Bakare emphasised that cybersecurity is a critical pillar of Nigeria’s digital future and highlighted the need to equip more women with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities required to thrive in the field.

He noted that increasing women’s participation in cybersecurity is not only about inclusion, but also about strengthening innovation, resilience, and national digital security.
