Omo Agege says Okowa can’t rescue Nigeria

Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege has accused Delta Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of  destroying the State.

Omo-Agege said Okowa has stunted growth in other parts of the State with the lopsided development of his hometown, Owa- Alero in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Deputy Senate President spoke on Friday at Ovwor-Olomu, Ughelli South LGA while receiving PDP defectors in Olomu Wards 1 and 2, Gbaregolor, Ewu, Orere, Arhavwarhrien, Erhruvwaren, Olota, Okparabe, Asa, Otu-Jeremi and Effurun-Otor to the All Progressives Congress (APC), said Okowa and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have done damage to the State, urging Deltans to vote PDP out of power in 2023.

Omo-Agege who was flanked by the member representing Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency, Francis Waive; APC Delta chairman-elect, Omeni Sobotie; Delta Central APC Chairman, Adelabu Bodjor; Paulinus Akpeki and other party chieftains, maintained that Okowa and the PDP had failed in his bid to rescue Delta and so cannot rescue Nigeria.

Omo-Agege said “I saw the Governor of Delta State on television saying he wants to rescue Nigeria. Someone who has not been able to rescue Delta State saying he wants to rescue Nigeria. We don’t want him to go and pollute Nigeria.

“He has already done enough damage to Delta State. PDP has done enough damage to Delta State. We need you to help chase them away from Delta State governance and we know that with you, we can do it.”

Omo-Agege urged the defectors to go to their communities as canvassers and ambassadors of the party to canvass for votes.

He appeal to them to go their communities, wards and units and preach the gospel that enough is enough.

In his words“If Okowa can turn Owa-Alero to London, what crime have you committed here in Ughelli South? What have you done to Okowa? You have the opportunity to help us come out and chase away Okowa, chase away PDP from this local government area.

“So, go back and recruit and canvass people on our behalf that there will be a better Delta State in 2023, a better state for all of us as partners. We don’t want to elect monarchs, don’t want to elect kings, we want partnership.”

Delta APC chairman, Prophet Jones Erue, assured the new members that they would be accorded the same privileges as old members.
