Overland Airways will transform Niger into regional trade, tourism hub – Capt. Boyo

The Chief Executive Officer of the Overland Airways, Capt. Edward Boyo, has reaffirmed that the commencement of flight operations in Niger state by the airline would transform the state into regional trade and tourism hub of Africa continent.

Capt. Boy disclosed this while addressing journalists on Friday to confirm the commencement of scheduled flight operations by the airline from the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, to Lagos and Abuja

He said, “This achievement comes through the visionary leadership of the Niger state Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, the strategic efforts of the New Niger Development Project (NNDP) and New Niger Aviation (NNA) which is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) created to manage and enhance the aviation ecosystem in Niger state.”

Capt. Boyo also gave the assurance that the partnership with Overland Airways, Nigeria’s longest-serving private domestic airline, “represents a key milestone in actualising Governor Bago’s infrastructure development blueprint.”

The partnership, he said, will also reposition Niger state as a regional hub for investment, trade, and tourism.

“We are honoured to be chosen as the launch airline for this historic route. This service underscores our commitment to expanding connectivity across Nigeria and partnering with visionary governments like Niger state to bring growth closer to the people,” he added.
