PAMA Pays Courtesy Visit to Dangote Refinery Complex in Lekki, Lagos
The Pan-African Manufacturers Association (PAMA) in line with its vision for a robust, integrated and competitive manufacturing ecosystem across Africa, led a delegation on a high-level courtesy visit to Dangote Industry Limited (DIL) on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at the state-of-the-art 650,000 barrels-per-day Dangote Refinery complex in Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria.
The delegation, which was led by Engr. Mansur Ahmed OFR, PAMA President, includes Segun Ajayi-Kadir mni, CoSecretary General, Aderopo R. Adediyan, General Coordinator, and Samson Obarafo, Regional Program Officer was warmly received by Alhaji Aliko Dangote GCON, President and CEO of DIL.
According to the PAMA Bulletin, the visit aimed to reinforce strategic relations between Africa’s foremost manufacturing association and the continent’s leading industrial conglomerates; Present PAMA’s strategic initiatives to DIL leadership;Seek collaboration on priority programs that will strengthen the manufacturing ecosystem across Africa.
It added that the strategic engagement underscores PAMA’s commitment to forging strong alliances with flagship manufacturers and leveraging such collaborations to strengthen Africa’s industrial architecture, promote cross-border investment, and deepen regional value chains.
During the meeting, the delegation briefed Alhaji Aliko Dangote GCON on several key initiatives of the Association, including support for SMIs, co-anchoring a continental manufacturing dialogue, capacity-building programs, applied industrial policy research, and institutional development.
The delegation also emphasized the importance of leveraging regional industrial champions like DIL to co-create a thriving ecosystem that supports both large scale industries and the vital SMIs base.
PAMA President, Engr. Mansur Ahmed OFR said “This is more than a courtesy visit; it is the forging of a strategic alliance. We are uniting Africa’s manufacturing community to build strength from within. The likes of DIL are an anchor in this process.”
The visit by the delegation also sets the stage for enhanced institutional partnerships and continental conversations on inclusive industrial development, involving not only private sector giants like DIL but also SMIs, financiers, researchers and policy institutions.
In his response, Alhaji Aliko Dangote GCON reaffirmed support for PAMA and expressed strong appreciation for the Association’s vision and strategic focus.
Alhaji Dangote reaffirmed his enduring commitment to Africa’s economic transformation through investment, trade integration, and sustainable industrialization.
“Africa’s future depends on what we produce, how we trade, and how we collaborate. I believe in what PAMA is building. We must support each other, connect our strengths, and transform African potential into industrial power,” Alhaji Dangote added.
According to the Bulletin, his response signaled openness to a long-term partnership with PAMA on initiatives that advance continent-wide production, resilience, and industrial self-reliance.
PAMA affirmed that it is committed to Africa’s industrialization and growth of Africa’s manufacturing sector and therefore looks forward to working with other continental key industrial players, regional and strategic partners to strengthen Africa’s manufacturing future.
