Private Jet with 10 VIPs Crash-lands at Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan

A private jet, with registration number, N580KR with about 10 persons onboard, including Very Important Personalities (VIPs) on Friday crash-landed in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

A source said the jet crash landed around 11am at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, as the jet with registration number, N580KR, missed the runway and veered into the nearby bush.

Firefighters and rescue officials from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) were immediately deployed to the scene.

It was gathered from an official that no death or casualty was recorded in the incident, who confirmed “Yes it happened. It is just a minor incident. The jet skidded the runway. There is no casualty.”

Spokesperson of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Carol Adekotujo, also confirmed “It was a private plane from Abuja. It landed safely but overshot the runway. There was no casualty.”

Recall, on November 3, 2023, a private jet operated by Flint Aero and carrying the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu and others crash-landed near the Ibadan Airport in Oyo State.
