Realtor urges players on integrity, standards in real estate business
Urban Shelter Limited, one of the key players in Nigeria’s built environment, has called on real estate operators to imbibe the culture of due diligence, uphold global standards as well as maintain integrity in the business.
Managing Director of the firm, Aminu Saadiyat, made this remark in Abuja after receiving an award from the Nigeria Housing Awards as the female Chief Executive Officer of the Real Estate Company of the Year and the Real Estate Developer of the Year, adding that diligence and integrity were vital for the sustainability of any real estate venture within and outside Nigeria.
Saadiyat said her group was recognized due to its level of diligence, as her firm had existed for about 30 years.
The Urban Shelter CEO urged realtors to be passionate about delivering affordable homes, adding that real estate developers should partner reputable financial institutions to support the provision of long term mortgages.
According to her “What you see on the demand side is that a lot of individuals are trying to buy houses, but because of lack of trust, affordable homes and mortgages, they are discouraged.”
She revealed that her firm had been trying to tackle the challenge from both the demand and supply sides in a bid to make homes accessible to more Nigerians.
She canvassed that real estate firms should look at ways of providing mortgage plans to customers to bridge the housing gap in Nigeria, insisting that this was possible through mutual partnerships with financial companies.
