TotalEnergies set to deploy renewable energy technology in Nigerian businesses

TotalEnergies has said it will deploy renewable energy technologies in all its businesses in Nigeria.

Mr. Victor Bandele, Deputy Managing Director in charge of the company’s Deepwater District, stated this during the just concluded 5th Nigerian International Energy Summit, NIES 2022 in Abuja, adding that deploying technology will help it harness all its businesses towards making it accessible to all.

Bandele said “Here in Nigeria, we need a people looking at opportunities in renewables. It is deliberate act we brought to the fore, and we are thinking in that direction.

“We are looking at engaging renewable energy technologies in all of our businesses”, he said, adding that the firm fully Interested in reducing carbon emission in its business units.”

He hinted that Nigeria is one of the countries where renewable energy can be produced at the cheapest rate.

According to him, TotalEnergies in 2021, rebranded from an oil and gas company to an energy-based one, and displayed its plan in the oil and biofuels, natural gas and green gases, renewables and electricity space.

He highlighted that since the company debut in Nigeria since 1956, more than 60 years; it has successfully played in all sectors of the Nigerian oil and gas industry; oil and gas exploration and production, natural gas liquefaction and the marketing of products and services.
