Adeleye reunites his ex-students for development after 38years
One of the contestants in the last Ekiti State Gubernatorial Election of 2018, under the Alliance of Patriots (AP), the National President of the Voice of the True Patriots Foundation and the Akeweje of Ijero -Ekiti, Dr Adeleye John Olusegun has teamed up with his old students for development.
Adeleye taught at Anglican Grammar School (AGS) , Okenla Ifo , Ogun State in the 80s and he has planned for reunion with the old students of the school which was scheduled to hold on 14th December 2020 at Quality Event Centre, Okenla , Ifo, Ogun State.
A statement issued by Henry David, Public Relations Officer, for the Reunion and made available to Gentechnews quoted Adeleye as saying, “Ogo ni fun Olorun Oba l’oke orun , once again , I thank God that we are alive to witness today, I am quite overcome with joy. I have significant reasons why I would not joke with the AGS, the school made me what I am today……that is why I am so passionate about it.” He made this statement while having a virtual meeting with the ex students during the week.
Adeleye said further ” If I have offended anyone in those days at AGS , I plead with us to extend to ourselves a corresponding forbearance and make use of available opportunities, I thank you all for the honour extended to me always …Remember , the best is yet to come !”
The agenda for the coming reunion includes: Presentation of Awards to old deserving students and teachers, presentation of gift items to the school as a way of giving to the alma mater, gospel music presentations by two gospel artists , talents display and presentation , election of official members and setting up of cooperative to help the needy.
Speaking earlier, one of Adeleye’s old students who was also the Chairman of the Reunion Committee, a staff of National Space Research and Development Agency of Nigeria, Dr Sholiyi Olusegun said “Permit me to welcome our Grand Patron, Adviser/Consultant, Dr Adeleye John Segun to this reunion meeting, Sir, we appreciate and recognize your belief in us, also your commitments to the development of AGS , where you were once a teacher , may God bless and protect you for us”.
The facilitator of the meeting, Road Safety Manager at Large Africa Plc, who was taught also by the Dr Adeleye, Mr Ademola Akindele said that the coming together of the old students is in agreement with Federal Government Economic Recovery Growth Plan (ERGP) which would facilitate members to tap into numerous developmental plans of President Muhammadu Buhari visions of alleviating poverty by targeting groups.
He used the occasion to enjoin his fellow old students not to take the issue of reunion with levity as there was more to gain from it under this regime.
Clergymen , Lawyers , Doctors , Accountants , Estate Surveyors , Pharmacists, Lecturers , Civil Servants, Events Managers and Captain of Industries were among some of the AGS old students of 1982 -87 class that partook in the virtual meeting.
