Director General of MCO Engr Simon Obadiah said “One day induction programme and administration of oath of secrecy is to enlighten inductees in public service rules and all aspects of governance , adding that “ the booklets we gave inductees  are there for them to read so that they can know what the rules are without  induction the civil service and public service cannot be better and governance will be very difficult”

He said Civil Service from inception is the most disciplined and cultured , and  to  make sure that the right things are done “  the rules are there to guide everyone  to make the service much better , the governance is about the people”

While advising the inductees Obadiah said “you have   to adhere strictly to the rules, and most especially make a name for yourself , what do you want your bosses and colleagues to know you for ? , if they call your name today what will they say about you , you start to make a name from the day you are employed in the civil service , building your name is very important “

The guest speaker, Director Human Resources, Ministry of Solid Mineral Development Mrs Ijeoma Idika  said “ induction is one of the necessary programmes that public service presents to the newly recruited officers  is a way of letting them know their environment , a way of teaching them what is obtainable at office they have been recruited into and a way of making them know their management and know the mandates of their office”

Director Monitoring and Coordination at MCO , Yakubu Muri in  his votes of thanks while addressing the inductees  said “we have a very good leader  that is the  Director General and  is ready to give all the necessary supports you need, the door is open please put in your best come with open heart whatever you do will be recognized. “

I want to encourage the newly-employed staff that you are now in the public sector. The civil service has rules of regulation that guide the operations of workers.”

He said “MCO has its rules, and also this institution has a way of rewarding those who do well, and also has a way of punishing those who also go contrary to the rules.  I want to encourage all of you to be dedicated, committed, productive in your work as civil servants.”

One of the inductees Olamijulo Oluwapelumi while responding to the lectures he said  “ The composure and the fatherly love of the Director General is something to be admired  , the way he addressed us like a father , his words that struck me most was that he said “ Make a name for yourself in service “  he instructed us that we should deliver well on our responsibilities , base on my  exposure and the teaching today , I will make sure that I am loyal, discipline and  diligent at work . I am quite privilege to serve this organization

All the management staff of MCO gave words of advice to the inductees one after the other before the event came to a close.
