PFN Calls for Repentance, Seeks Divine Intervention, Safe Return Of Oyo Pupils
The Lagos State Mainland Province of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has called on Nigerians to return in genuine repentance to God, stressing that the nation needs spiritual renewal to overcome the nation’s challenges in achieving peace, security and national restoration.
The call was made during the PFN’s annual revival programme themed “Help from Above,” held simultaneously across various provinces of the fellowship on May 30 at Bariga Primary School, Ilaje, Lagos,
Speaking at a crusade, Chairman of PFN Lagos Mainland Province, Pastor Chinedu Momah, said the country is facing a spiritual crisis that demands more than religious rituals.
Momah, who was represented by the province’s General Secretary, Pastor Moses Mboso, urged Nigerians to redirect their trust to God, stressing that reliance on human solutions had failed to deliver lasting progress.
“As a nation, we have put our trust in our leaders. We were looking up to man, and we have seen diverse kinds of people with different solutions they offered. But that has not advanced us. Human intelligence has failed us. True help can only come from God,” he said.
According to the Clergyman “The nation is not in its best shape. The responsibility of rebuilding the country should not rest on political leaders alone; every citizen has a role to play.”
He encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope but to contribute positively to national development in their various spheres of influence, noting that righteousness exalts a nation while sin brings reproach.
Delivering a sermon at the event, the Guest Preacher and Lead Pastor of International Miracle Service (IMS), Pastor Andrew Umoru, said the theme reflected the difficult state of the nation and humanity’s urgent need for divine intervention.
He stated that sin and disobedience have become major obstacles preventing many people from receiving answers to their prayers.
“Help from above is about creating access for God’s assistance to come upon mankind freely, like rainfall from heaven without hindrance,” Pastor Umoru said.
He explained that repentance, atonement and obedience to God were necessary for individuals and communities seeking divine help and restoration.
“Satan cannot be obedient to you when you are not obedient to God. As individuals, we must obey God to gain the spiritual authority to overcome the devil and his antics,” he added.
Pastor Umoru also expressed concern over worsening insecurity in the country, particularly the abduction of school children in Oyo State and cautioned that the prolonged captivity could have lasting psychological effects on the children and urged security agencies to intensify efforts to secure their release.
The revival which attracted PFN members, worshippers and residents from different parts of Lagos State at the Bariga Primary School Complex featured prayers, praise worship, deliverance sessions and exhortations aimed at encouraging spiritual revival and drawing attention to the dangers of drifting away from God amid the nation’s growing challenges.
